I’m Stephen Richert. Here’s my story:

I’m a documentary adventure photographer. I also happen to live with type 1 diabetes (since 1999). I originally started LivingVertical as a platform to share my adventures and photography projects. I wanted to reach other people like me with a reminder that adventure can give us back our life in a way that drugs and medicine alone cannot. Adventure gave me an opportunity to create something new and positive from my struggle-that’s the basis of my photography and it’s what I am sharing with you!
